Student Support Services
The office of Student Support Services is dedicated to assisting, empowering and advocating for students who are first-generation, have limited income, or those who experience a disability. Student Support Services is a great resource for students, as they offer comprehensive academic and personal support, designed for every student's different needs. Their goal is to offer academic and personal support, and so encourage students to explore and engage with their career and personal goals, while completing their education.
Rural Student Services
If you are a student from Alaska's rural villages, or other parts of the arctic, we suggest you contact the office of Rural Student Services. Serving rural and Alaska Native students from across Alaska, Rural Student Services (RSS) will help you make °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ your home away from home!
Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability
The focus of the Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability is preserving individual rights, ensuring compliance with policy and law, and fostering accountability. Their overall goal is to provide a respectful, diverse and inclusive university environment. ORCA will serve as a single point of contact for matters involving Title IX, discrimination, student behavioral intervention, crisis management and our Student CARE Team. Please do not hesitate to reach out to them if you, or some you know, are in need of help or have concerns.
Student Health and Counseling Center
The Student Health and Counseling Center is here to help °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students stay healthy, grow and develop personally, and do as well as they can in their university studies. They offer a variety of Services at the center, including medical care, counseling services and assistance with the graduate and international student insurance plans.
Academic Advising Center
The Academic Advising Center at UAF provides personalized advising support to make sure students get the help they need. They can answer information on deadlines, degree and other education requirements, and much more.
Career Services
Whether you know what you want to do after graduation or are just starting to think about what comes next, Career Services is here to help you pave your post-college path. Meet with advisors to explore career options, prepare applications for internships and jobs, make connections with employers and take control of your future!
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Writing Center
The °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Writing Center offers free tutoring sessions for students. You can book a session online, and sessions are available in person, as well as virtual sessions. Please visit their website for more specific information and to book an appointment.
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Math Lab
The °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Math Lab offers free tutoring sessions for students enrolled in lower division MATH and STAT courses. Please visit their website for more information and how to book an appointment.

The has a variety of supportive services, self-help groups and local offices in your area to help people in the United States struggling with their mental health.
The can assist students and their families/caregivers navigating through learning differences and mental health issues. On their website you can also find information on the transition process from highschool to college, as well as information on how to support students and families.

Transitioning from highschool to College can be a big step, and it is important that all students are prepared for it. Disability Services (DS) has put together two lists that can help you see if you have the suggested skills and preparations for your new chapter in life.
Emergency Preparedness
Lastly, we request that all °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students, faculty and staff review our Emergency Preparedness Guide. In a case of emergency it is vitally important that all students, especially students with disabilities, are prepared for potential emergency situations and managing a crisis. Students are their best first responder, as you know yourself and your needs best, so please take the time to plan ahead.
