Assistive Technology

Assistive technology includes, but is not limited to, any technology based means to aid a student. Assistive technology can assist students who have difficulty speaking, writing, typing, seeing, hearing, remembering and learning. Disability Services (DS) uses screen readers, dictating software, and magnification software to aid students with disabilities. 

DS goal is to provide technology access and support for students with disabilities. Some of the software DS uses are:

DS has a number of items that can be loaned to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students, registered with our office, as well as to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ faculty, staff and departments. These include laptop computers, assistive listening devices, recorders, foot rests and other items. Please Contact Us to set up a meeting if you would like to rent equipment.

Students and faculty can receive free demonstration and training on how to use Assistive Technology, by contacting our office and scheduling an appointment with our office.
