Departments
The Office of Admissions strives for quality student service and serves as a gateway
to education through pre-admission counseling and recruiting, application processing,
university policy interpretation and community outreach.
The Associated Students of the University of Alaska Fairbanks runs service departments
and programs dedicated to the interests and welfare of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students. All students
enrolled in 3 or more credits are AS°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ members. AS°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ represents °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students to
the university administration, the board of regents and the Alaska Legislature. Officers
of AS°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ are selected by the student body in elections held every fall and spring
semester.
The Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability supports student-centered programs and services designed to assist students in achieving
their personal, academic and career goals. The center provides assistance to students,
staff and faculty regarding conduct, grade appeals, administrative withdraws, safety/security
concerns, as well as handling Student Employee Waivers, and more.
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Dining offers a welcoming, affordable dining experience for Fairbanks residential
and commuter students. With six locations on the Fairbanks campus, you will find something
to satisfy all your dining needs. All of them accept cash, BearBucks, Munch Money
and credit cards.
Disability Services provides academic accommodations to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students who experience
a disability. We welcome individuality and work with students attending our main and
community campuses. Disability Services operates an Assistive Technology Lab and produces
materials in alternate formats. Arrangements can be made for American Sign Language
interpreters, transcription services, braille and audio formats.
The °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Financial Aid Office assists students seeking resources to finance their postsecondary
education by administering a comprehensive offering of federal, state and institutional
aid programs in a student-centered environment.
Recreational opportunities at UAF are organized by DRAW. Activities are housed primarily
in the Student Recreation Center, the Patty Ice Arena and the Patty Center.
The Registrar's Office provides support and service to the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ academic and student
community through services related to academic records, transfer credit evaluation,
registration, enrollment data, course and catalog administration, and graduation.
The Department of Residence Life provides living and learning communities that are
intended to enhance student success. We provide safe, clean and well maintained facilities
that meet the diverse needs of our residents.
Student Health and Counseling's mission is to help °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students stay healthy, grow
and develop personally, and do as well as they can in their university studies. There
are many services available at the center, including medical care, counseling, disability
accommodations and assistance with the student insurance plan.
The Department of Military and Veteran Services is here to help all veterans and military
students—active duty, reserve, guard, separated and retired—as well as their dependents
who are exploring °®ÎÛ´«Ã½'s academic opportunities.
The Wood Center's mission is to develop the whole student by creating connections
to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ and the surrounding communities through a variety of programs, services and
opportunities.
The Enrollment Management Communications Team supports the communication initiatives of the Office of Admissions, Office of the
Registrar, Financial Aid Office and Department of Military and Veteran Services in
a shared services model, and also provides communication support to many other campus
partner offices.
