Youth Climbing Programs
The mission of the Fairbanks Youth Climbing Program is to introduce and cultivate rock climbing skills, techniques, and movement within the youth of Fairbanks. The purpose of this mission is to enhance teamwork, communication, and confidence within our climbers. Our teaching methods nurture this purpose.

High School Strength and Conditioning Training Clinics
About the program:
Nanook Recreation is offering a new fitness class series focused on youth sport specific training. These training sessions will focus on developing flexibility, strength, speed, agility and sport specific conditioning for the young athlete. Increasing physical preparation for your sport can improve performance and decrease the likelihood of injury. Must be 15yrs to 18yrs of age.

The 4 week summer program starts June 3 and runs through June 28. Sessions are sold by the week, allowing you to pay for the weeks you are able to attend.

- Groups are limited to 10 athletes to ensure quality coaching
Workouts will be supervised by a certified strength and conditioning specialist with 17 years of collegiate strength and conditioning experience.

Increasing physical preparation for your sport can improve performance and decrease the likelihood of injury. Must be 10yrs to 14yrs.Workouts will be supervised by a certified strength and conditioning specialist with 17 years of collegiate strength and conditioning experience.

Outdoor Adventure Camps
Join Outdoor Adventures this summer as we team up with °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Summer Sessions to offer a few weeks of half-day (3-hour) youth summer camps.
All OA camps will be on campus. We will be heading out to hike on the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ trails, learn about leave no trace and being good stewards of the environment, and other fun-filled outdoor activities.

We will also be offering half-day indoor rock climbing camps through Summer Sessions. Learn about the basics of indoor rock climbing at the SRC climbing wall through fun climbing games and activities.
Climbing camps are offered the following weeks:
June 7-11 (grades 2-3), 9am-noon (grades 4-6) 1-4pm; June 21-25 (grades 7-8), 9am-noon; August 2-6 (grades 7-8), 9am-noon.
