CLA Scholarships

There are many scholarship opportunities for CLA students at UAF.

The first step in the scholarship process is to visit the °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Financial Aid website and begin the paperwork process. The deadline for this is February 15.

General Liberal Arts Scholarships

CLA has been the beneficiary of some truly generous gifts from alumni, friends, former professors and staff and other donors. They have made the scholarships below available to you, CLA’s current student body.

Scholarship

Minimum $500 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarships to non-traditional students attending the University of Alaska Fairbanks for undergraduate or graduate study in the liberal arts, including education. Preferences will be given to applicants intending to study history, political science, women's studies or northern studies.

Scholarship

Minimum $500 per academic year, see agreement & revisions

Purpose: To promote international education among undergraduates seeking a degree in the humanities/liberal arts at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. To that end it encourages students to study abroad and to seek direct exposure to and personal contact with another culture.

Scholarship

Minimum $500 per semester, $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarship for students enrolled in College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

 

Scholarship

Purpose: To provide scholarship support to Alaska Native undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Scholarship

$500 per semester/$1000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide scholarships for University of Alaska Fairbanks undergraduates and graduate students who are seeking a degree offered through the College of Liberal Arts and who have financial need.

Scholarship

Minimum $1,000 per academic year

Purpose: To provide annual financial assistance for tuition and other related educational expenses to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ students who are members of, or eligible for membership in, a federally recognized tribe in Alaska, who are majoring in the Liberal Arts and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students whose applications reflect a disadvantaged background. In addition, students whose personal statements or application essays demonstrate the applicant's service to their rural community will be preferred.

Cradled on a three-mile long gravel spit within the Kobuk, and Noatak and Selawik Rivers, Kotzebue is about 30 miles north of the Arctic Circle on the Baldwin Peninsula. Originally a trading site for local Native people for more than 600 years, Kotzebue remains a hub for the area and is home to °®ÎÛ´«Ã½'s Chukchi Campus.
