Tamamta program honored by APLU
°®ÎÛ´«Ã½â€™s Tamamta program has been honored with the from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities.
Tamamta focuses on bridging Indigenous and Western sciences to transform graduate education and research in fisheries and marine sciences. The five-year program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation, was launched in 2020 by °®ÎÛ´«Ã½â€™s College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences and College of Rural and Community Development. It provides funding for multiple cohorts of Indigenous and non-Indigenous CFOS graduate students.
Tamamta activities and training include Indigenous fisheries courses, an elder-in-residence program, a visiting Indigenous scholar program, cultural immersion experiences, professional development and more. More information about the Tamamta program and fellows .
