Ph.D. awards available for prospective students through faculty mentors
The °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ R1 Working Group on Ph.D. Fellowships is pleased to announce an opportunity for faculty to apply for °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Troth Yeddha’ Ph.D. Financial Awards. TYPFAs will support a limited number of prospective Ph.D. students for fall 2025 and spring 2026. Awards can include coverage of tuition, fees, research assistantships and health insurance. Prospective Ph.D. students are eligible for TYPFA if they:
- have submitted a complete application to study at UAF by Jan. 15
- have met the admission requirements of their Ph.D. program
- have been identified by the supervising faculty member as a good fit for their research group.
If a faculty member has identified a prospective student who meets these requirements, the faculty member must submit a TYPFA application on behalf of the student. If a faculty member wishes that student to attend the campus visit (Feb. 27–March 2), the faculty member must submit a campus visit application on behalf of the student.
