Gitter to serve as interim °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ Chief Information Officer

Kel Gitter, manager for Nanook Technology Services Collaboration and Learning Spaces will serve as the interim Chief Information Officer for NTS. This assignment along with his experience and leadership will add continuity and support allowing for a smooth transition while a search begins for a permanent CIO.

He has excellent collaborative and working relationships with peers across NTS, °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ and the Office of Information Technology and will be an asset to the success of NTS. Kel Gitter has managed the CLS team at UAF since 2014. He and his team support classroom technology, digital signage, and web conferencing across campus. They provide technical assistance for classes and events, both in-person and online. Gitter began working in IT at UAF in 2005 as a student employee. He has held various roles in video conferencing and technology support. In 2019, he led the university's transition to the Zoom platform.

Gitter is a member of °®ÎÛ´«Ã½'s Process Improvement Team. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from °®ÎÛ´«Ã½ and a Master's degree in Public Administration from UAS. Gitter’s commitment to service will enrich customer experience and contribute to our technology leadership transition.
